Description

2 pp. ½ in-folio. Prince of Wales Island [Penang Island, Malaisie], 7 mars 1819. « Gentlemen, I have to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 5th instant, explanatory of the object of your researches and of the circonstances in which you are placed. It is my intention at an early period to submit to the most noble the Governor General in Council and also to the Honble the Court of Directors my opinion on the advantages which may result to science and general knowledge, by the prosecution of the pursuits in which you are engaged, and in the mean time I request to make you the following offer.
