Hamishah humsche Torah. Antwerp Chr. Plantin (for C. van Bomberghen) 1566 2 (of 4) pts in 1 vol., 8vo: [243-1 bl.-61-1 bl.], [224] ff. (dampstaining in bottom half, tear in bottom margin f. 241). Contemp. gold-tooled calf, covers with gilt central oval ornament and ruled borders, spine with 5 raised bands (spine gone, corners def). Inside good copy. The first 2 vol., complete in themselves, of Plantin’s 8vo Hebrew bible. Vol. I is even more complete than the copy described by Voet, as it contains not only the Pentateuch (31 quires), but also the Megillot (quires 32-35VIII). Vol. II contains the Former Prophets (28 quires). The ed. was printed with Hebrew letters supplied by Daniel Bomberg, and was printed in 4to, 8vo (as here), and 16mo. Ref.
