Peeters 1833-1834 8vo: 288-48-22 pp. (some min. browning and spotting, mostly in the text and the b/w plates). Contemp. half green leather with tiny corners, marbled paper on covers, gilt orn. flat spine, sp. edges (corners sl. bumped and rubbed, spine faded, sl. rubbed at extremities). First part only of this botanical journal edited by the prolific publisher on botany, palaeontology and other fields Ch. Morren (1807-1855). Illustrated with 34 full-page hand-coloured engr. pl. and 10 full-page b/w engr. pl. Morren was director of the Botanical Gardens in Liège, but is especially remembered for his discovery on how to fertilize exported vanilla plants. A complete set nowadays is rare to find. Ref.
