The botanist Miller (1691-1771) was chief gardener at the Chelsea Physic Garden from 1722 till his death and cultivated many plants for the 1st time in England. He was reluctant to use Linnaeus' classification but nevertheless adopted this system in the 8th edition of "The Gardener Dictionary" in 1768. Text in 2 col. Ref.
