BELLE, Gabriel "Carte figurative du chemin ici joint partant [...] de la dite Cense du Moncheau et allant au marais". 1706 Drawing, pen and brown ink, watercolour on laid paper, 34,3 x 384 cm, on 2 sheets attached together (sm. tr. of use, sm. wormhole, sl. browned). Manuscript itinerary map by Gabriel Belle, sworn land surveyor of Tournai, for a Mr. Ballenghien, authorized representative of the farm of Moncheau. The map shows the surveyed road from Tournai à Molenbaix (1) with 2 houses "maison de menage", represented on the Ferraris map as well (2 and 23), the road to the farm of Moncheau (8, i.e., the current "Chemin du vieux comté"), the farm itself (20), with the lands belonging to it, the border (21 and 22), the road to Mont de la Trinité (24), etc. Unique representation of the early 18th-c. situation before a second farm, the "Cense de le Planque" was constructed. The National State Archives own 2 maps by the same land surveyor from 1719 and 1745. Ref.
