A fine copy, in excellent condition and with good impressions of the illustrations, bound in dark morocco signed by Lortic with the arms of the Prince of Essling. Folio (345 x 224mm). Engraved frontispiece, 68 illustrations of the Prophets by J. Messager, engraved by L. Gaultier and others, French royal coat of arms woodcut on title and headpieces, woodcut headpieces. Dark morocco decorated in gilt on the plates, spine, inlays, and edges, marbled endpapers (extremities very lighly rubbed). Collation: *4 including frontiespiece, a1 (marked as b1) b-g² i4 A-4E4, A-C4 with the "Discours Historique de la vie, de la passion" bound at end. Provenance: Prince of Essling (1836-1910). Antiporta calcografica disegnata da C. Vignon e incisa da G. Rousselet, 68 illustrazioni incise in rame dei Profeti disegnate da J. Messager e incise da L. Gaultier e altri, stemma reale francese xilografico sul frontespizio e nelle testate, fregi xilografici. Marocchino scuro decorato in oro ai piatti, dorso, tagli e unghie (minimi difetti alle estremità). Collazione: *4 inclusa l'antiporta, a1 (segnata come b1) b-g² i4 A-4E4, A-C4 con il "Discours Historique de la vie, de la passion" legato in fine. Provenienza: Principe di Essling (1836-1910).
