Basilea: Giovanni Oporino, 1555. Two interesting 16th-century works bound together. The first deals with the history of the Christian Churches in the Ottoman Empire, in Russia and in the Balkans; the second is a collection of Christian and Hebrew poems on the apocalypse containing both the original Greek text and the Latin translation. 2 works in one volume, 8vo (149 x 88mm). Texts in Greek and Latin, printer's device on first title, woodcut headpieces and initials (some browning and occasional waterstaining, tiny wormtrack to lower margin at the end of the first work). 18th-century calf, gilt spine, red speckled edges (some general wear, heavier on spine). La prima tratta della storia delle Chiese cristiane nell'Impero Ottomano, in Russia e nei Balcani; la seconda è invece una raccolta di poesie cristiane ed ebraiche sull'apocalisse e contiene sia il testo greco originale che la traduzione latina. 2 opere in un volume, 8vo (149 x 88mm). Testi in greco e latino, marca tipografica al frontespizio della prima opera, fregi e iniziali incisi in legno (alcune bruniture e occasionali macchie di umidità, minuscola traccia di tarlo al margine inferiore alla fine della prima opera). Pelle del XVIII secolo con dorso decorato in oro e tagli a spruzzo rossi (dorso rovinato con perdite, generali segni di usura più evidenti alle estremità). Provenienza: antiche note di possesso cancellate ai frontespizi (che creano piccoli buchini).
