PUTEANI, Erici (1574-1646) - Historiae Mediolanensis seu insubricae ab origine gentis ad Othonem Magn. Imp. Frankfurt and Leipzig: Johannes Grossius, 1686. An important work on the history of the Insubri, an ancient population that settled in Lombardy in the fifth century, making Milan their stronghold. The first edition dates back to 1636 and the author was an historian, humanist and philologist from the Netherlands, he studied at Dordrecht and Cologne and became professor at University of Leuven. 4to (200 x 160mm). Title printed in red and black, folding genealogical table (a little browned, some occasional staining, modern endpapers, without blank a4). Contemporary vellum with modern manuscript titles and decorations, red edges (some staining and restorations), preserved in an elegant modern case. Importante opera sulla storia degli Insubri, antica popolazione che nel V secolo si stabilì in Lombardia, facendo di Milano la loro roccaforte. La prima edizione risale al 1636 e l'autore fu storico, umanista e filologo dei Paesi Bassi, studiò a Dordrecht e Colonia e fu professore all'Università di Leuven. 4to (200 x 160mm). Frontespizio in rosso e nero, tavola genealogica ripiegata (un po' brunito, alcune occasionali macchie, sguardie moderne, senza a4 bianca). Pergamena coeva con titoli e decori moderni manoscritti, tagli rossi (alcune macchie e restauri), preservato entro elegante cofanetto moderno.
